NCCJ Official SealWe Open Minds—The National Conference for Community and Justice was founded in 1927 as The National Conference of Jews and Christians for the Advancement of Justice, Amity and Peace, and then became known as The National Conference of Christians and Jews. In 1999, the organization's name changed to The National Conference for Community and Justice. Though the name changed, the mission of the NCCJ has always remained the same, to fight bias, bigotry, and racism in America. NCCJ promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution and education. Our work is to transform communities through institutional change and by empowering leaders so that all people will have access to our nation's opportunities, and be included in its promise.

The NCCJ of the Piedmont Triad, Inc. founded in 1937 as the “Greensboro Chapter”, became an independent 501 (c) 3 organization in 2005 and remains an affiliate of the eighty year old National NCCJ organization.
