ANYTOWN
Changing Lives in the Piedmont Triad since 1987

Anytown is a week-long residential
summer program conducted by NCCJ at Blowing Rock Conference Center in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. Not your "typical summer camp," Anytown provides rising Guilford County high school juniors and seniors with a unique opportunity to live and interact
with a diverse group of students from different schools, ethnicities, religions, cultures,
and socioeconomic backgrounds. The students come together to build a community
based on inclusivity, respect and understanding, a community that can serve
as a model to the larger communities from which they come.

At Anytown, the group--including about 70 delegates, 13 peer counselors, 12 adult advisors and 3 directors--explores issues including racism, interfaith respect, prejudice, discrimination, homophobia, ableism, culture, and sexism.
Anytown
prepares high school students to take on leadership roles and not only succeed,
but excel across a wide range of living, working and educational situations. Delegates have the opportunity to learn from and teach each other, and in doing so, build and enhance their own leadership skills in conflict resolution, coalition building, group facilitation and diversity management.
Partial scholarships for Anytown are available and are based on demonstrated need. No one will be prevented from attending Anytown because of their finanical situation. Anytown fees include all meals, lodging, educational materials and supplies, as well as transportation to and from the Blowing Rock Conference Center.
